I'm a huge fan of continuous improvement, and I've mentioned tools like Sonar and JetBrain’s ReSharper in the past that help quickly locate problematic areas and facilitate that continuous improvement process. So we, too, need to keep an eye on minimizing complexity in our own domain, our code, so that we can concentrate on the task at hand instead of suffering through technical debt and bit-rotting architectures. This is especially true for large systems that have aging code bases and large numbers of developers (over time) with their hands in the code. Our codebases begin to suffer from the same complexity problems over time.
